Hi everybody, this is Anette from NorwegianClass101.com. Today we're looking at 10 Most Romantic Ideas for a Date. So let's get started! |
1. middag med levende lys "candlelit dinner" |
Jeg satte opp en middag med levende lys. "I set up a candlelit dinner." |
Actually, Norwegians love to use candles so it's very common for people to have candlelit dinner, and also just a lot of candles inside the house in general. |
2. gå en lang tur "to go for a long walk" |
Vil du gå en lang tur med meg i dag? "Do you want to go for a long walk with me today?" |
Norwegians love to be outside in nature, and it is very common to go for a walk after work, or just during the weekends; anytime you have some spare time, you can gå på en tur "go for a walk." |
3. gå å bowle "to go bowling" |
I går dro jeg for å bowle. "Yesterday I went bowling." |
Yeah, that might be a fun date, if you are a distinguished one, like bowling, then go for it. |
4. gå til et akvarium "to go to the aquarium" |
Har du vært i dette akvariet? "Have you been to this aquarium?" |
Norway doesn't have that many big aquariums, but if you visit Norway and want to see one, the one in Bergen is probably one of the best ones out there. |
5. gå på opera "to go to the opera" |
Jeg har aldri gått for å se opera. "I've never seen an opera." |
Yeah, I'm not quite sure if I ever did see an opera, it's not really my type of entertainment. But if you find yourself in Norway and you want to see one, there's a very famous opera house in Oslo, which I would recommend, not just for the opera, but also for the architecture. |
6. gå til dyreparken "to go to the zoo" |
Kan vi gå til dyreparken neste søndag? "Can we go to the zoo next Sunday?" |
Again, Norway is a small country so there's not that many options if you want to see the zoo, but there's one down in Kristiansand, which is probably where you would like to go if you want to see animals in the wild in Norway. |
7. gå på piknik "to have a picnic" |
La oss ha en piknik! "Let's have a picnic!" |
It is very nice to be outside in Norway during the summer when it's nice and hot, and have a picnic with your friends. So, yeah, if you have a chance, definitely go for a picnic. |
8. spise middag og se en film "to have dinner and see a movie" |
Vil du spise middag og se en film?"Do you want to have dinner and watch a movie?" |
This is a great idea for a date, you can never go wrong with a movie and dinner, unless it's a horrible movie. |
9. ta en fergetur "to take a ferry ride" |
Jeg vet om en veldig koselig fergetur langs fjorden. "I know of a very nice ferry ride along the fjord." |
And if you want to see the fjords, there's a trip called Norway In A Nutshell, which is a very nice ferry ride along the fjords. |
10. gå på stranden "to walk on the beach" |
Vil du gå på stranden? "Do you want to walk on the beach?" |
Norway has mostly rocky beaches, but there are some good sandy beaches out there as well. So, yeah, you can still get a nice walk on the beach if you visit Norway. |
