In this lesson, we’ll learn about a service crucial to your travels in this modern age - the Internet!
Normally, you'll get free Internet access in public libraries. In hotels, Wi-Fi is usually part of the service, in which case you may need a password in order to get online. You might ask “Excuse me, what is the password for using the Internet?”
Unnskyld, kva er passordet for å bruke Internettet?
Let’s break it down:
(slow) Unn-skyld, kva er pass-ord-et for å bru-ke In-ter-net-tet?
Once more:
Unnskyld, kva er passordet for å bruke Internettet?
Unnskyld is “Excuse me.”
Kva means “what”, and together with er, “is”, we get the useful phrase kva er...? (“what is...?”).
(slow) Kva er...?
Kva er...?
Passordet means “the password.”
(slow) Pass-ord-et.
Passordet.
The next part of the phrase, for å bruke, means “in order to use.”
(slow) For å bru-ke.
For å bruke.
The final word, Internettet, means “the Internet.”
(slow) In-ter-net-tet.

Kor mykje means “how much.”

Kostar is the present form of the verb “to cost.” Together with det, “it”, the phrase kostar det could be translated as “does it cost.”

Next we have the three words for ein time which literally mean “for one hour.”
